Salfit Governor and Minister of Economy Praise Researcher Who Obtained Master’s Degree in Contemporary Public Relations

Salfit – Ma’an – Salfit Governor Major General Dr. Abdullah Kamil and Palestinian Minister of National Economy Eng. Mohammed Al-Amour praised the master’s thesis completed by researcher Ahoud Al-Khaffash to obtain a master’s degree in contemporary public relations from the College of Graduate Studies at An-Najah National University. The thesis was titled “The Role of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of National Economy in Raising Citizens’ Awareness of the Policy of Price Control and Monitoring in Palestinian Markets from the Perspective of Ministry Employees.”

Governor Kamil and Minister Al-Amour praised the efforts made by researcher Al-Khafash in preparing her thesis, pointing out that the master’s thesis she prepared is a qualitative and modern scientific addition to the Arab library, due to the role of the Ministry of National Economy in educating citizens about commodity price policy and market stability, so that other researchers can benefit from its results to develop their research in
the future.

This came during Dr. Kamil and Eng. Al-Amour’s reception of researcher Ahoud Al-Khafash, and receiving a copy of her thesis in the presence of the thesis supervisor, Dr. Osama Abdullah.

The Governor of Salfit and the Minister of Economy expressed their pride in the scientific competence, as the study was prepared in exceptional circumstances and the continuation of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the occupation’s efforts to strike the Palestinian economy and cause it to collapse, which is considered one of the most important pillars of the citizen’s steadfastness on his land, wishing Al-Khafash success in her scientific and practical career to serve the nation in various locations.

Al-Amour noted that the Ministry of Economy is following up on the Palestinian market with the relevant authorities, not manipulating prices, the importance of supporting Palestinian products, not flooding the market with Israeli products,

focusing on the quality of the product, and preservi
ng the safety of the citizen, stressing the need to take the results and recommendations into account and work with them.

While both Dr. Osama and researcher Al-Khaffash expressed their sincere thanks to Minister Al-Amour and Governor Kamil for their support and encouragement of the researcher, which reflects the appreciation and respect that Minister Al-Amour and Governor Kamil have for science and its people.

Al-Khafash noted that the study is important because it contributes to putting an end to the problems of monopolizing goods whose prices are expected to rise globally, which creates chaos and problems in the availability of consumer goods in the markets. In addition to the absence of trust and causing economic crises that lead to disruption of the economic, social and political system, which results in instability.

Researcher Al-Khafash pointed out that the most important challenges facing the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of National Economy are the use of price control and monitoring
policies in Palestinian markets, which are represented by the continuous fluctuations in the prices of many goods, the multiplicity of brands and sizes of the same goods, the lack of control by the Palestinian government over all population centers that are still subject to the rule of the occupation, and the lack of cooperation of consumers in reporting to the ministry about transgressing merchants.

The study recommended amending Palestinian laws by imposing deterrent penalties on anyone who violates the decisions of the Ministry of National Economy by raising the prices of goods and their safety or tampering with them, and tightening control over shops that advertise offers on goods at reduced prices to entice consumers, by obligating them to coordinate with the ministry about their desire to offer goods, and supporting the national product by reducing the tax rate to encourage them to produce goods of high quality, as an alternative to high-priced imported goods, and that the ministry increase its coopera
tion with the Consumer Protection Association and support it to open branches in all Palestinian cities, and other recommendations.

The study aimed to identify the nature of communication activity

and communication methods, their effectiveness in educating citizens, and the challenges facing the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of National Economy in educating citizens about the policy of price control and monitoring in Palestinian markets.

The discussion committee consisted of Dr. Osama Abdullah as supervisor and chairman, Dr. Farhan Al-Alimat as external examiner, and Dr. Ahmed Hamouda

as internal examiner. At the end of the discussion, the discussion committee recommended publishing and printing the thesis to be a scientific reference for researchers from Palestinian universities. It also recommended the student’s success and awarding her a master’s degree.

The researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach, and was guided by qualitative analysis. The study used the questionnaire t
ool to collect data, and interviews were used with specialists in the economic field.
