Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi Friday met with German legislatures at the Bundestag in Berlin and met with MPs of the Social Democratic Party on the Jordan-Germany “strategic” partnership. During the meetings, Safadi reviewed the partnership between Jordan and Germany and discussed the joint keenness to develop it, praising the “historical” relations between the two countries. The two countries marked the 70th anniversary of establishing ties. The meetings discussed international and regional issues, the developments on the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian Territories and the Syrian crisis and the refugee crisis in Jordan. He lauded Germany’s support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). Separately, Safadi held a meeting with members of the local parliament of Berlin, in which the Minister of Reconstruction and Development of the state of Berlin participated. They discussed stronger cooperation in education, training, research and health. Safadi discussed the agreement signed between Jordan and Germany in 2021 on providing job opportunities for Jordanians in Germany in health, nursing and engineering.
