Rwandan President Appreciative of Egypt’s Support in Healthcare Domain

Kigali: Rwandan President Paul Kagame expressed his gratitude to the Egyptian leadership for the support provided to his country in the field of healthcare.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this expression of gratitude came during a meeting President Kagame had with Egypt’s Ambassador in Kigali, Nermin el Zawahiri, and a delegation from Pharco Pharmaceuticals. The meeting aimed to activate a memorandum of understanding to allow Egyptian medicines to access the Rwandan market. The MoU was signed between Egypt and Rwanda in August 2024, during a visit by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty to Kigali.

Kagame commended Pharco Pharmaceuticals for its role in the Egyptian presidential campaign to eliminate Hepatitis C, as well as the ‘100 Million Healthy Lives’ initiative. He noted that the company’s success story positions it well to enter the Rwandan market and the markets of neighboring African countries.
