Russia is preparing to launch two new Progress cargo spacecraft, Progress MS-30 and Progress MS-29, to the International Space Station (ISS). According to the Russian space agency Roscosmos, preparations are underway at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, where the Progress MS-30 has arrived and is undergoing testing in anticipation of its launch in February 2025.
Prior to this, the Progress MS-29 is scheduled for launch in November 2024 to deliver supplies and equipment to the ISS. The Progress MS spacecraft are critical in transporting essential goods, including scientific equipment, water, oxygen, and food to the space station. Additionally, these spacecraft can be used to adjust the station’s orbit while docked.
The Progress MS series, developed by Russia, continues to play a vital role in ensuring the operational needs of the ISS are met, while also supporting the long-term sustainability of space missions.
