Amman: In the last 24 hours, the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has seen at least 22 fatal rain-related accidents, officials reported on Thursday.

Officials from the relief department report that the unceasing rains have raised river levels and flooded more than 600 communities across 12 state districts.

Over 1,000 acres of agricultural land have been submerged by the floods, which have also impacted about 800,000 people.

Over 10,000 individuals have been relocated to safe areas by the relief and rescue services.
