Queen Sofía of Spain and her accompanying delegation on Friday 18/11/2022 toured the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Cairo.

They were welcomed by NMEC’s Executive Director Ahmed Ghoniem, who briefed the delegation on the museum, its halls, outstanding collections, and activities.

Chief archaeologist Mohamed Mokhtar overviewed the most significant treasures in the museum’s Royal Mummies and Egyptian Textile halls.

In the guest book, the queen expressed her sincere pride to visit the NMEC, which shows the greatness of the Egyptian civilization, looking forward to boosting bilateral relations linking Cairo and Madrid at all levels.
