Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani said on Tuesday that after all the killing and destruction in Gaza and the West Bank, Israel will eventually submit to the will of the international community and accept the two-state solution and a Palestinian state living alongside it.
Addressing the opening session of Qatar’s parliament, the Shura Council, the Emir called on the international community “to stop the Israeli aggression and repeated attacks, and lift the unjust siege on the Palestinian people.”
The destruction will not devastate the Palestinian people, who remained steadfast and upholding their legitimate rights, he added.
The Qatari leader reiterated his condemnation of the airstrikes and military aggression by Israeli occupation forces against Lebanon, which claimed thousands of civilian lives and displaced more than a million people.
“We warned against this dangerous escalation of the Israeli aggression, which is expanding by the day with repercussions on neighboring countries and the region
,” he said.
The easiest and safest exit (from this situation) is to stop the escalation on the Lebanese border and the genocidal war on Gaza, he said, calling for implementation of international resolutions, namely UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
