Egyptian Presidential Advisor for Health Affairs Mohamed Awad Tageldin asserted that Egypt successfully overcame the fifth wave of coronavirus, lauding the successful way by which the Egyptian state handled the pandemic under the supervision of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The different Egyptian institutions topped by the medical institutions professionally handled the situation and succeeded in dealing with the developments of the crisis, he said in statements to Xinhua on Wednesday.
The pandemic drastically decreased in Egypt and the current infections are mild ones, he said, stressing many hospitals in Egypt does not have any infected cases.
Despite the downward trend of infections, all State bodies are on high alert and regularly following up the epidemiological situation in Egypt as well as the global developments of the pandemic outbreak.
He urged citizens to be cautious, saying the virus still exists and is still a threat to many world states, calling for abiding by precautionary measures especially social distancing and mask wearing.
