Ramallah – Ma’an – The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics said that the producer price index recorded a 2.25% increase during July compared to June 2024.

The statistics explained in a statement issued today, Thursday, that the general index during the past month reached 136.24 compared to 133.25 during the previous month (base year 2019 = 100).

He added that the producer price index for locally consumed goods from local production recorded an increase of 2.31%, as the producer price index for locally consumed goods reached 138.92 during July 2024 compared to 135.78 during the previous month (base year 2019 = 100).

The statistics continued, that the producer price index for goods exported from local production recorded an increase of 1.55%, as the producer price index for goods exported from local production reached 111.29 during the month of July compared to 109.60 during the previous month (base year 2019 = 100).

He pointed out that the prices of goods produced from the agriculture, forestry and fi
shing activities recorded an increase of 5.10%, as their relative importance constitutes 29.94% of the product basket, as a result of the increase in the prices of goods within the non-perennial crops cultivation activity by 12.72%.

Prices of goods within the fishing and aquaculture activity recorded a decrease of 14.57%, while prices of goods within the animal production activity recorded a decrease of 5.76%.

Prices of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supplies recorded an increase of 2.64%, as their relative importance constitutes 8.23% of the product basket, while prices of water supplies, sanitation, waste management and treatment activities recorded an increase of 1.35%, as their relative importance constitutes 1.50% of the product basket.

The statistics indicated that the prices of goods produced from manufacturing activities recorded an increase of 0.10%, as their relative importance constitutes 58.92% of the product basket, due to the increase in the prices of the produced goods.

While
the prices of mining and quarrying products recorded stability during July 2024, as the index settled at 103.04, as its relative importance constitutes 1.41% of the product basket.
