Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh today stated that Christian and Muslim holy places are targets of Israeli settler attacks. Speaking during a meeting with a delegation of the Ecumenical Council of Churches in Hungary (ECCH) with the attendance of the head of the Representative Office of Hungary in Ramallah Csaba Rada at his office in the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, Prime Minister Shtayyeh said that Israeli attacks, committed by the occupation forces and settlers, target Christian and Muslim holy places alike throughout the occupied territories, including Jerusalem. The Israeli occupation measures, he added, continue to target and efface Christian and Muslim presence in the Holy Land. Premier Shtayyeh briefed the delegation on the latest developments of the Palestinian Question and the Israeli occupation and settler-colonialist measures, notably colonial settlement construction, that are systematically destroying the two-state solution, while affirming that the solution to the ‘conflict’ lies in ending the Israeli occupation and establishing the independent Palestinian state. He concluded by considering that it was particularly important to strengthen bilateral Palestinian-Hungarian relations, build bridges between the two peoples and the promotion of religious tourism. The ECCH delegation’s visit was arranged and coordinated by the Higher Presidential Committee of Church Affairs.
