Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met on Monday 28/10/2024 with Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk.
Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk expressed optimism about having ‘constructive’ discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission as part of a fourth review of a $8 billion loan programme.
During the meeting, Kouchouk presented a comprehensive report on his participation in the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Washington, D.C.
The minister said he engaged in G20 sessions and held bilateral meetings with finance ministers from various countries to strengthen economic and financial ties.
Additionally, Minister Kouchouk participated in ministerial discussions with the IMF Managing Director, focusing on issues affecting Middle Eastern and African nations. He also attended investment forums hosted by leading global investment banks, where he met with hundreds of investors and representatives from credit rating agencies. These engagements highlighted the international community’s growing intere
st in Egypt’s financial and investment landscape.
He further noted that the meetings provided a platform to showcase Egypt’s latest economic reforms. The gatherings allowed Egypt to present its vision on financial and economic matters, share insights on regional and global challenges, and outline the government’s approach to tackling them through targeted reforms.
