Cairo: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, engaged in an evening meeting at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital with Mr. Wang Jijun, Chairman of China National Tire and Rubber Co., Ltd, and Mr. Sun Ding, Vice President of the company. The assembly was attended by Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, and Mr. Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones.
According to State Information Service Egypt, a delegation from “Prometone Tyres Egypt,” fully owned by China National Tire and Rubber Co., Ltd, was also present, including Mr. Omar Mahna, Chairman, and Mr. Yun Lian, Vice President of “Prometone Tyres.” The Prime Minister welcomed the delegation, acknowledging the company’s established presence in Egypt’s market and its ambitions to expand further.
Dr. Madbouly emphasized the strategic importance of the tyre manufacturing industry for Egypt, highlighting the government’s support for companies in this field. He noted that “Prometone Tyres Egypt” operates a factory in Al-Amiriya, Alexandria, with significant production capacity and export activity, providing 2,000 jobs.
The Prime Minister expressed hopes for the company’s expansion into passenger car tyre manufacturing, indicating ongoing discussions with the Egyptian government on establishing a new factory. Engineer Kamel El-Wazir supported the delegation, explaining plans to allocate land for the new factory and expand existing operations to meet local demand and for export purposes.
Mr. Wang Jijun thanked the Prime Minister for the productive discussions and highlighted the valuable data provided on Egypt’s investment opportunities. He expressed confidence in expanding their activities in Egypt, outlining a two-phase investment plan, including doubling production capacity and establishing new manufacturing facilities.
Mr. Omar Mahna described the company’s existing factory and future plans, while the Prime Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting these investments. Dr. Madbouly urged the prompt completion of project studies and the signing of final contracts, offering flexibility on partnership and land acquisition options for the new factory.
