Presidential spokesman denies Israeli reports citing President Abbas, describing them as a vicious campaign

The presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh today denied an Israeli press report citing President Mahmoud Abbas during a meeting with members of the Palestinian expatriate community on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Abu Rudeineh said that President Abbas spoke about the topic of elections affirming that these will be held once it is possible to hold elections in East Jerusalem.

Abu Rudeineh also said that President Abbas did not smear or use any offensive language against anyone or any party.

He said that ‘such reports appearing in the Israeli press are part of a vicious campaign led by the Israeli occupation authorities against the Palestinian leadership and the Palestinian narrative which has started to take hold in the US and the world at large refuting the Israeli narrative.’
