President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Wednesday 23/10/2024 with the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit held in Kazan, Russian Federation.

Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Ahmed Fahmy, said the two presidents reviewed the overall bilateral relations and ways to enhance them across various fields, as well as means to strengthen coordination between the two countries within multilateral frameworks, particularly the BRICS.

The two leaders commended the noticeable progress and positive milestones in the relations between the two countries since the establishment of their comprehensive strategic partnership in 2014, reaffirming their commitment to building on the momentum generated by President El-Sisi’s state visit to China in May 2024.

President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for China’s participation in many major economic projects in Egypt, particularly in infrastructure, transportation, and railways, and expressed Egypt’s keenness to con
tinue fruitful cooperation with China in manufacturing and technology transfer.

The two presidents reviewed regional and international developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of immediate action to de-escalate tension and prevent the expansion of conflict to avoid a regional war that could have negative repercussions for all parties involved. Both leaders called for a permanent and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue through the launch of a political process that leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, viewing this as the optimal solution to ensure sustainable security in the region.
