President El-Sisi Meets King of Jordan in Cairo.


Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan on Wednesday. The discussions took place with the participation of delegations from both countries.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that the discussions focused on the regional situation and efforts to coordinate positions regarding developments in the Palestinian territories. The leaders emphasized the necessity for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the need for unrestricted humanitarian aid.

The leaders also highlighted the importance of building on the outcomes of the recent extraordinary Arab and Islamic summit held in Riyadh. They expressed their commitment to ensuring the success of the upcoming Gaza Humanitarian Response Support Conference in Cairo on December 2, aimed at achieving its objectives.

The discussions underscored the international community’s responsibility to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to t
he Gaza Strip. The pivotal role of UNRWA in this context was also acknowledged. President El-Sisi praised Jordan’s ongoing efforts to support the Palestinian people, while King Abdullah II expressed appreciation for Egypt’s initiatives to facilitate a ceasefire and provide aid.

Both leaders reiterated their firm opposition to any attempts to negate the Palestinian issue or displace the Palestinian people, stressing the necessity of an independent Palestinian State based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, to achieve a two-state solution and restore regional stability.

The situation in Lebanon was also discussed, with both leaders welcoming the ceasefire and underscoring the importance of maintaining Lebanon’s security, sovereignty, and stability. They rejected any aggression against Lebanon and called for all parties to take responsibility to halt the ongoing escalation in the region.

t and Jordan and the leaders’ commitment to further enhancing cooperation across various fields to fulfill the aspirations of their peoples for progress and prosperity.
