President El-Sisi Discusses Regional Stability with Spanish Prime Minister


Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi engaged in a phone conversation with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro S¡nchez on Wednesday, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and addressing regional issues.



According to State Information Service Egypt, both leaders acknowledged the progress in bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of enhancing ties in economic, commercial, and investment sectors. The discussion highlighted Egypt’s pivotal role in brokering a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, with Prime Minister S¡nchez expressing appreciation for Egypt’s efforts.



Prime Minister S¡nchez sought President El-Sisi’s insights on the ceasefire’s implementation, aiming to halt violence and restore peace in the region. President El-Sisi recognized Spain’s supportive stance on the Palestinian issue and outlined Egypt’s humanitarian initiatives in Gaza. He reiterated Egypt’s firm support for the two-state solution, advocating for an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders to ensure regional stability.



The leaders also discussed the situations in Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, and Libya, exploring strategies to promote regional stability and protect citizens from ongoing crises.
