President El-Sisi Addresses Arab Intelligence Forum via Videoconference

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi delivered on Tuesday 9/11/2021 a virtual speech to the extraordinary meeting of chiefs of the Arab Intelligence Forum bodies, currently held in Cairo.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President welcomed the delegations participating in the “Arab Intelligence Forum” and praised their efforts to enrich the work of this unique Forum since its inception, in a way that enhances the joint Arab cooperation in the areas of security and information.

These efforts were demonstrated in the initiatives on joint security work, which were launched by the Forum’s members during the last period, and assessments- carried out by both sides with complete transparency- on the sources of threats around the Arab region.

The President also stressed the principle of joint responsibility in confronting the challenges facing the region, particularly terrorism and extremist ideology.

To that end, comprehensive approaches are needed to deal with regional crises by focusing on ending foreign interference in the affairs of the Arab region and respecting the peoples’ decision and will and the sovereignty of national states and their institutions. The goal is to end terrorist and takfiri organizations’ exploitation of these crises and their repercussions.

His Excellency stressed that Egypt did not and would not spare any effort to help its brothers achieve safety in their country through a comprehensive political solution that includes simultaneous steps and procedures.

They shall be based on unifying the military institution, driving foreign forces and mercenaries out of the territories, ending the phenomenon of armed militias, and activating the will of the peoples.

On their part, the chiefs of the Arab intelligence services thanked President El-Sisi for his continuous support for the “Arab Intelligence Forum”.

They stressed the important role of the forum as a strong and supportive mechanism for close intelligence cooperation between the brotherly Arab countries.

It also contributes to establishing an integrated and robust system for combating terrorism based on the complementary roles, exchange of experience and continuous modernization and development of confrontation mechanisms in this regard. Hence, Arab national security would be maintained and the aspirations of the Arab peoples would be achieved.
