President Abbas receives phone call from Chilean counterpart, discuss latest developments

President Mahmoud Abbas tonight received a phone call from his Chilean counterpart, Gabriel Boric Font, during which they discussed the latest political developments in the Palestinian arena.

They also discussed efforts underway to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and spare civilians the scourge of war as well as the importance of allowing the entry of medical relief supplies and food into the Strip and providing it with water and electricity as soon as possible.

President Abbas affirmed Palestine’s utmost refusal to displace the Palestinian people from the Strip, the West Bank, or Jerusalem.

He thanked his Chilean counterpart and the brotherly people of Chile for their support for the rights of the Palestinian people and their efforts in support of the Palestinian cause at all international forums.

He further affirmed that peace and security are achieved by recognizing the state of Palestine and implementing the two-state solution based on international legitimacy, which encompasses the entire land of the state of Palestine in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.

For his part, the Chilean president stressed his country’s position in support of the state of Palestine in its struggle to regain its legitimate rights.

He also affirmed Chile’s position rejecting the killing of civilians, noting that it will provide urgent relief and humanitarian assistance to Gaza through the UN Refugee Agency.
