President Mahmoud Abbas this evening received the Omani Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, and the accompanying delegation, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah. The president briefed the Omani official on the latest developments in the Palestinian territories in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, their land, and holy sites; as in Jenin, Nablus, and other areas in the occupied Palestinian territories, including settlement activities, home demolitions, killings, and racial discrimination, which undermine whatever remains of the two-state solution. The president affirmed the importance of Arab and international mobilization to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the only way to achieve peace, security, and stability in the region. The Omani minister conveyed a message from the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, in which he extended an invitation to President Abbas to visit Oman in order to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries, reaffirming his country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.
