RAMALLAH: The Presidency today welcomed the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi’s statements, which are completely consistent with the Palestinian position and international legitimacy.
In his statements, Yi called for achieving an immediate, comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and ensuring unimpeded access to humanitarian aid to the Strip and for exerting joint efforts aimed at enabling the State of Palestine to impose its mandate and governance over its territories of the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem.
The presidency appreciated China’s efforts to help the State of Palestine obtain its full membership of the United Nations and to hold an international peace conference to implement the two-state solution, a step conducive to ending the occupation and realize the establishment of the Palestinian state.
It commended anew the strong and strategic relations between the two friendly peoples and countries, and voiced profound appreciation of China’s historical positions in support
of the rights of the Palestinian people.
It expressed President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership’s appreciation of all the efforts exerted by China to support the Palestinian people at all levels and in all international forums.
