The Supreme Committee has initiated preparations for the “Public Administration in the Middle East and North Africa: Transformations, Resilience, and Future Prospects” conference, scheduled to take place in Jordan from October 29-31, 2024.

Sameh Al-Nasser, Chairman of the Public Service and Administration Authority, underscored the conference’s significance in Jordan, aligning with royal directives aimed at modernizing the public sector.

He emphasized the need to incorporate Jordan’s national priorities into the conference discussions and sessions, ensuring alignment with the government’s public sector reform agenda.

Al-Nasser highlighted the urgency of intensified efforts and frequent committee meetings as the event approaches. He also expressed appreciation to Musa Abu Zaid, Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Public Administration Network (MENAPAR) and President of the Palestinian Civil Service Bureau, for his support and dedication to ensuring the success of the conference in Jordan.

The conf
erence’s official website, https://menapar.spac.gov.jo, has been launched, offering information on the agenda, participation, and registration.

Musa Abu Zaid emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to address challenges and successfully host the conference in Jordan, noting its potential impact on advancing public administration in the Arab region.

Shorouq Abdelghani, Executive Director of the Compliance and Monitoring Department, and Alaa Hamad from the National School of Administration in Palestine, provided updates on the conference preparations. They highlighted the importance of working with relevant stakeholders and presented the main themes of the conference, which include innovation in public policies, public service design and delivery, institutional development, human resource growth, comprehensive digital governance, leadership during crises, and public-private partnerships.

Abdelghani noted that the draft agenda is complete and under review by partners, adding that efforts are ongoin
g to secure funding for the conference through continued engagement with donors.
