The Police Academy received a number of members of diplomatic authorities in the Peace and Security Council (PSC) of the African Union (AU) to discuss means to boost aspects of joint cooperation within the framework of supporting the efforts of the AU in the fields of international peace and security and building the capabilities of the Egyptian and African cadres participating in peacekeeping missions at the regional and international levels.
The head of the academy asserted the keenness of Interior Minister Mahmoud Tawfiq to extend communication bridges with the African union, confirming the ministry’s faith in the importance of international security cooperation in the field of training and building capabilities of Egyptian and African cadres participating in the peacekeeping missions at the regional and international levels.
He also reviewed the contributions of the Egyptian Interior Ministry in the peacekeeping operations under the UN and AU flags.
He also reviewed the efforts of the Police Academy to
present all aspects of support to train African security cadres in the different fields of security action and the role of the Egyptian center for training UN Peacekeeping Police Force to train and build capabilities of peacekeeping cadres at the national, continental and international levels.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of political affairs, peace and security at the AU lauded the Egyptian state for being one of the biggest counties contributing to the UN peacekeeping missions.
He also lauded the contributions of the Egyptian police cadres and their pivotal and effective role to support stability and peace in the conflict areas.
