Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted the importance of ongoing efforts to organize the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Climate Chane Convention (COP27).
The premier said the government is keen on participating in financing a list of projects as part of “NWFE” program through development partners, international finance institutions, multilateral development banks and the private sector.
Madbouli’s remarks came during a meeting with Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat to probe a number of files pertaining to Egypt’s hosting of COP27, slated for November in Sharm El-Sheikh.
During the meeting, Mashat presented the agenda of the second edition of Egypt’s Forum for International Cooperation and Developmental Financing and meetings of the African ministers of finance, economy and environment, that will be hosted by Cairo on September 7-9 to coordinate and unify African stances and viewpoints ahead of the Sharm international climate gathering.
The minister also talked about “NWFE” program for financing and investing in climate projects.
She said the program is the mechanism to promote the implementation of green development projects in the vital sectors of water, food and energy in order to achieve sustainable development, green transition and food security in light of Egypt’s arrangements for the climate conference.
