PM stresses private sector’s role in supporting industry

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli has affirmed the important role played by the private sector in assisting the state to develop the industrial sector.

 

During a meeting with Trade Minister Niveen Gamea and Chairman of Kandil Steel Amr Kandil, the premier shed light on the great efforts exerted by the government to support the local industry and plans to reduce imports and increase dependence on the locally-manufactured products.

 

For her part, Gamea said the Egyptian state, under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, spares no effort to give a push to the industrial sector and increase the competitiveness of Egyptian products.

 

Kandil, meanwhile, reviewed a number of proposals aimed to promote the feeding industries and manufacture production materials locally.

 

He referred to a proposal to establish a complex for flat steel products as one of the feeding industries.

 

At the end of the meeting, Madbouli praised the proposals made to support the feeding industries and expand the manufacture of production materials.

 

The government will continue to support such initiatives and proposals to boost the national industrial sector and reduce imports, the prime minister said.
