Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected four pharmaceutical factories on Saturday 21/9/2024 in the 6th of October City.

He began the tour alongside Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health, by visiting the ACDIMA International Pharmaceutical Factory and the AstraZeneca Factory, which specializes in diabetes and hypertension medications.

Today’s tour comes amid a shortage of medicines in Egypt as some vital medicines for common diseases are unavailable in pharmacies like medicines for hypertension and diabetes.

The Prime Minister emphasized that tour focuses on several pharmaceutical factories, reflecting the state’s strong commitment to this vital sector. He noted that these efforts aim to meet local medicine needs, address shortages, and effectively reduce the import costs of these products.

Madbouly toured the factory’s production lines, laboratories, and packaging areas.

Company officials reported that the factory is now producing 110 pharmaceutical pr
oducts that were previously in short supply, particularly immune drugs. The company aims to localize additional products soon.

This factory is the only one in Egypt and the Middle East that specializes in the production of all types of hormones and is equipped to meet all World Health Organization standards.
