The State pins many hopes on the government project to improve provincial capitals and major cities under the presidential “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative, to achieve urban development in targeted cities, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Tuesday 7/3/2023.
Madbouli was speaking during a meeting with the ministers of electricity and housing to follow up on the progress of supplying the project’s residential units with necessary utilities, including water, sanitation, electricity, gas, and telephone services, according to a statement by Cabinet Spokesman Nader Saad.
Meanwhile, Board Chairman of Egypt Urban Development Fund (UDF) Khaled Siddiq briefed the premier during the meeting on the implementation status of the project’s urgent phase, which covers 13 governorates, including: Cairo, Sharqia, Suez, Damietta, Kafr El Sheikh, Gharbia, Qalyubiya, Fayyoum, Menofia, Qena, Minya, Sohag, and Dakahlia.
Siddiq also showed the prime minister some pictures indicating the project’s advanced completion rates in the urgent phase governorates, which will have many service and commercial units to provide citizens with fully integrated services.
The urgent phase units are under construction by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, whose chief was also present at the meeting.
