PM Shtayyeh stresses need for joint action to immediately stop Israeli aggression on Gaza during meeting with Qatari counterpart

Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh discussed during a meeting held on the sidelines of the Doha Forum 2023, in Qatar, with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Prime Minister of the State of Qatar, the need for joint action to immediately stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

They also discussed the need to speed up the introduction of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip to alleviate the suffering of people, as well as the need to enable Israel’s displacement plans, end the division and work internationally for a comprehensive political solution that leads to the end of the occupation and the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.

Shtayyeh praised Qatar’s willingness to mediate to stop the aggression and for its efforts to provide and facilitate the entry of relief aid, in addition to its efforts in providing medical care to the injured who were transferred for treatment at their hospitals.

He said that Qatar’s efforts within the committee that
emanated from the Riyadh summit, and its efforts with various parties that alleviate the suffering of our people in the Gaza Strip are deeply appreciated by the Palestinian people and its leadership.

For his part, the Qatari Prime Minister stressed that his country and its partners in providing mediation are committed to continuing efforts to return to calm, leading to a permanent ceasefire.

He stressed that the continued Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip after the end of the humanitarian truce complicates the mediation efforts and exacerbates the humanitarian disaster in the Strip.
