Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh called on British Foreign Secretary David Cameron to pressure Israel to stop its war against the Palestinian people and their land and money, and stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip.

During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s office in Ramallah and in the presence of Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki, and British Consul General in Jerusalem Diane Corner, Shtayyeh affirmed total rejection of the forcible displacement of the Palestinian people.

‘We reject the forced displacement of our people,’ stating that this is an Israeli plan in progress aimed at targeting civilians and pushing them south, and making life impossible in the Strip through collective sanctions and blocking humanitarian aid.

‘We reject the continuation of the Israeli military presence in the Strip and the expansion of the buffer zone along the Gaza-Israel borders to run deeper into the Strip.’

The Prime Minister stressed the need to pressure Israel to open all crossings to facilitate the entry of humanitarian
aid, and to think of the post-war situation by creating conditions for a comprehensive political solution based on international law, UN resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.

Shtayyeh called on the British Foreign Secretary to support the Palestinian bid for full membership in the United Nations as a starting point for an international path to achieve the two-state solution through a UN resolution that ends the occupation and establishes a Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He warned of the seriousness of the situation in the West Bank due to the increasing terrorism of Israeli colonizers, and the violations of the occupation army, including the daily raids, killings, detentions, and appropriation of land.

The Prime Minister urged Cameron to pressure Israel to transfer Palestinian tax funds in full and without any deductions, stressing that deducting more than 600 million shekels from the PA tax funds leaves the National Authority unable to implement it
s obligations.
