PM Reviews Strategic Plans for New Suez and Sphinx Cities


Cairo: Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, convened a meeting to assess the strategic plans and current execution status of the new cities of Suez and Sphinx. The meeting was attended by Eng. Sherif El-Sharif, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Major General Tarek El-Shazly, Governor of Suez, Dr. Abdullah Ramadan, Deputy Governor of Suez, and Dr. Mostafa Mounir.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of reviewing and evaluating the plans for New Suez and New Sphinx cities, which are anticipated to attract significant demand in the future. Highlighting New Suez City, he stated that it is ideally situated with high appeal to investors and residents, featuring an industrial area and an exceptional beachfront.



The Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities detailed the strategic master plan for New Suez City, noting its strategic location on the Suez Canal axis. This position provides robust investment opportunities in maritime and complementary activities due to its proximity to major urban centers such as Cairo, the New Administrative Capital, and Suez City.



The minister elaborated on New Suez City’s investment potential, indicating the strategic plan aims to transform it into a global, smart, and sustainable city. It is designed to be a hub for economic leadership activities, free trade, advanced export industries, logistics, knowledge economy activities, and tourism. The city is projected to house a population of 1.25 million over a net area exceeding 40,000 acres.



During the meeting, key projects in various sectors were discussed to align with the strategic vision for New Suez City. The minister outlined proposed land uses, including residential areas, transport networks, infrastructure, and zones dedicated to economic and investment activities.



Regarding New Sphinx City, Eng. Sherif El-Sharif reviewed its boundaries and structure, encompassing approximately 73,000 acres. He outlined the city’s developmental vision as a smart, sustainable city with high-end residential standards, leading services, and global investment and tourism activities.



El-Sharif highlighted the strategic plan for New Sphinx City, which includes projects in various sectors, leveraging the city’s location near the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids, and Sphinx International Airport. The availability of road networks and modern transport facilitates numerous activities and projects.



The minister discussed land use proposals for investment, tourism, education, medical, and recreational activities in New Sphinx City. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly concluded the meeting by emphasizing the need for distinctive infrastructure and services in New Sphinx City, focusing on recreational tourism due to its proximity to significant cultural landmarks.
