Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said on Sunday that the Egyptian state took multiple measures over the past period to support the tourism sector amid the Covid-19 crisis and the Ukrainian-Russian conflict.
The premier made the remarks at a meeting with Tourism Minister Khaled el Anani to follow up on the inflow of inbound tourism into Egypt.
Anani briefed the premier on the outcome of his meetings with government officials from the UK and Germany, as well as tour operators to brief them on the measures taken by the state to secure airports.
The minister spoke about the work plan during the coming period, including the summer tourism season (2022-2023) and the winter tourism season (2022-2023), Spokesman for the Cabinet Nader Saad said.
Anani also presented a statement on the number of tourists, who visited Cairo, Luxor and Aswan over the past period, and reviewed measures taken by the state to promote tourism.
The meeting tackled the status of the stalled tourism projects in Sharm el Sheikh and efforts being exerted to re-operate them.
