Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly presided over the Committee for Market Regulation and Commodity Prices meeting to oversee the availability of essential commodities and maintain price stability.
During the session, Osama El-Gohary, Assistant to the Prime Minister and Head of the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), affirmed the stabilization of prices for key food items such as pasta, oil, packaged milk, rice, and sugar throughout August.
El-Gohary discussed various applications and systems, including the Consumer Protection Agency app, to monitor markets and prices.
He introduced the Price Radar app, designed to track markets, monitor prices nationwide, and report any violations by merchants, with ongoing efforts to enhance its functionality.
Moreover, proposed measures to regulate markets and stabilize prices were put forth by the IDSC, including the establishment of a trading governance platform to encourage accurate data registration for companies involved in food production and distribution

Madbouly emphasized the importance of establishing permanent retail locations year-round to showcase goods at affordable prices, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring market stability and fair pricing.
