Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli assigned on Sunday Trade and Industry Minister Nevin Gamea, in coordination with the export councils, to prepare a plan aiming to double the exports to make a worksheet for each export council separately.
Madbouli also tasked Gamea to rapidly announce the available industrial zones and mechanisms of allocating them by the usufruct system and payment system, as well as procedures to obtain the licenses.
The prime minister was speaking during his meeting with heads of export councils to discuss suggestions that aim to boost exports and reach solutions for problems facing them.
Gamea, for her part, said the Egyptian exports achieved a 20% increase in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period of 2021, noting a meeting with officials of the Industrial Development Authority had been held to implement the premier’s directives to quickly issue the required licenses.
A comprehensive development plan for the system of procedures and services provided by the authority with the aim of granting more facilities to investors in various industrial sectors, the minister noted.
Meantime, the heads of the export councils thanked the government, under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives, for its support for the exporters, presenting a number of suggestions to enhance the exports.
