RAMALLAH: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Caspar Veldkamp, discussed on Sunday efforts to stop the genocidal war waged against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, as well as the attacks and escalation of the Israeli occupation forces and colonists in the occupied West Bank.
During a meeting in Ramallah, Mustafa stressed the need for the European Union and its countries to take actual and serious steps in the face of colonial activities and colonists’ violence in the West Bank.
He also called for exerting pressure to stop all Israeli measures and the financial and economic siege, including stopping the illegal deductions from Palestinian tax revenues and releasing the withheld funds.
The Prime Minister valued the bilateral relations between the two countries, highlighting the importance of strengthening these relations and crowning them with the recognition of the State of Palestine.
He also extended his thanks to the Netherlands for the aid pro
vided to relieve the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli aggression.
Mustafa stressed that the government has developed a comprehensive plan to be implemented immediately after the aggression on the Gaza Strip stops, adding that the plan is based on urgent relief, in addition to restoring basic services, reintegrating and unifying national institutions, and a comprehensive reconstruction program.
He pointed out that the government, since the first day of the establishment of the National Authority until today, has been responsible for providing all basic services in the Gaza Strip, including education, health, water, electricity and daily affairs of the Palestinian people.
For his part, Veldkamp stressed the importance of reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, bringing in emergency relief and medical aid, stopping the aggression on the West Bank by the occupation army and colonists, and preserving and respecting the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
