Cairo: During the opening of the “Sports Expo 2025” exhibition and conference, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, representing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, inspected the Youth and Sports Ministry’s pavilion. He was accompanied by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and several other dignitaries including ministers, ambassadors, the Governor of Cairo, and officials from the sports sector.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi confirmed that the “Sports Expo 2025” is the leading sports exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa. The event has attracted more than 200 participants and over 15,000 visitors this year, including local sports manufacturers, club owners, equipment providers, athletes, and various sports service providers. The expo aims to foster regional and international collaboration, innovation, and growth in the sports industry, providing a platform for networking and showcasing the latest developments and partnerships.
Dr. Sobhi explained that the Ministry is organizing the exhibition in partnership with Soccerex and United Sports, involving major clubs, sports federations, and companies specializing in sports technology and investment. He also noted that “Sports Expo 2025” will host the international football conference “Soccerex MENA” for the first time in the region, marking a significant step for global football industry growth.
The Prime Minister, during his tour, began at the Youth and Sports Ministry’s pavilion where he learned about the “MOYS” sports technology incubator, funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology. This initiative supports innovation in sports technology, aiming to enhance athlete and coach performance through technology, particularly artificial intelligence.
The Minister emphasized the importance of developing sports technology to keep pace with contemporary advancements and achieve sporting excellence. The “MOYS” incubator provides a platform for young innovators to develop and commercialize their ideas, contributing to Egypt’s sports sector.
Additionally, the Prime Minister and his entourage observed models of various sports facilities in Egypt at the pavilion, which reflect significant development efforts aligning with the state’s broader developmental projects.
Dr. Sobhi highlighted the Ministry’s strategy to maximize the use of sports facilities in accordance with their sustainable development plan. He noted the development of a new generation of smart sports facilities, such as the Egypt International Olympic City, and the ongoing infrastructure enhancements of youth and sports facilities planned until 2030.
