PM inspects EEPI factory in Alexandria


Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli inspected, during an extended tour in Alexandria on Saturday 3/8/2024, European Egyptian Pharmaceutical Industry (EEPI) which produces medical devices, medicines and supplementary.

Madbouli’s inspection includes visiting factories in the free zone in Alexandria.

Madbouli lauded the modern technology used in the factory in addition to the volume of production, pointing out that the government is ready to offer needed assistance to increase production and exportation.

Board chairman of the company Sherine Helmy presented a general explanation on the factory’s production and its manufacturing abilities, adding that it was designed according to the latest international standards and fit out with the latest technological machines to achieve the highest rate of performance and international and local quality in all the manufacturing stages to go for the foreign markets.

The company is eco-friendly and has alternative energy resources, including 448 solar panels that produce 260
megawatts per hour, Helmy said.

Production Director in the factory Hussein Awad said that the factory is established on an area of 20,000 square meters, adding that there are green areas covering 40% of the area of the company.

The volume of investments in the company is EGP 1.5 billion, he said.

The factory owns four production lines and 8,000 workers, Awad said, adding that the volume of exports is 11 million dollars.

The factory exports to more than 50 countries in the Gulf, Africa, Latin America, Europe and Asia, Awad said.

It is the first and latest factory in the Middle East having a production line for the capsules of the inhaler of the different pharmaceutical components.

The EEPI got a number of accreditation certificates and the international and local quality in addition to different ISO certificates, Awad said.
