Sokhna: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inaugurated the Flex PET Egypt factory for manufacturing polyester resin during his visit to the Integrated Industrial Zone in Sokhna, affiliated with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE). The ceremony was attended by Charg© d’Affairs of the Indian Embassy in Cairo, C. Sushma, marking the opening of the Indian company’s project.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Prime Minister Madbouli was briefed by Ram Sagar, a member of the company’s board of directors, about the factory’s operations. The facility spans 125,000 square meters and involves investments totaling $175 million. It boasts an annual production capacity of 580 metric tons and is expected to provide 850 direct and indirect job opportunities.
Sanjay Sharma, another board member and director of operations, explained to the prime minister the production stages at the factory. The facility manufactures polyester used in packaging products for liquids such as juices and dairy. Madbouli toured the raw materials section, which is organized into powder and liquid materials. These materials are transported through special pipes and mixed using specialized devices to produce ‘polymer,’ which is then dried and formed into granules for packaging materials in the final manufacturing stage.
