PM Highlights Presidential Directives on Enhancing Energy Security


Ras Ghareb: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the sustainability of the local energy supply while supporting national economic development plans. This initiative aligns with the state’s strategy to increase reliance on renewable energy sources in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals. The prime minister noted that these efforts are designed to attract more investments into the energy sector and to stabilize power supply for all projects. He underscored the presidential directives regarding the continuous enhancement of the comprehensive development plan aimed at achieving energy security and increasing reliance on renewables.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Prime Minister Madbouli made these remarks during an inspection tour in Ras Ghareb city, located in the Red Sea governorate. Accompanied by Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat and officials from the Electricity Ministry, as well as representatives from companies implementing energy
projects, Madbouli inspected several renewable energy ventures. His tour began with a visit to a 650-megawatt wind farm dedicated to power generation.

The inspection aligns with the state’s action strategy, which focuses on promoting the use of renewable energy, reducing carbon emissions, diversifying energy resources, and decreasing dependency on fossil fuels. The prime minister highlighted the state’s efforts to increase the capacity of wind turbines and stressed the importance of partnerships with the private sector, recognizing it as a crucial partner in various economic sectors.
