Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli Monday emphasized keenness on making inspection tours of schools nationwide to ensure the progress of the educational process alongside the implementation of measures meant to address challenges of the overcrowded classrooms and shortage in number of teachers.
The state attaches a great importance to the education sector, Madbouli said, highlighting the
government’s constant efforts to support the educational system, with a view to achieving various development goals and enhancing human capital development.
The premier made the remarks during an inspection tour of Amgad Primary School in Kirdasa town, Giza governorate.
He was accompanied by Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif.
During the tour, the education minister said that the recent measures have significantly contributed to addressing the issues of overcrowded classrooms and shortage in the number of teachers.
Abdel Latif said that he will continue field visits throughout the academic
year to ensure the effective implementation of these measures and improve the quality of education at various educational stages.
The premier’s tour included inspecting classrooms of the kindergarten, primary and preparatory stages, the activity rooms and music room to ensure adequate classroom capacities after implementing measures aimed at addressing overcrowded classes.
Meanwhile, Amgad School Principal Abdul Salam Bastami said that the school currently accommodates 2,898 students distributed among 68 classrooms, with a maximum of 46 students per classroom.
