Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli emphasized on Thursday that the State prioritizes the energy sector due to its critical role in meeting the needs of both productive and consumer sectors. This statement came during a meeting with key officials, including Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi, and other senior figures, to discuss the energy file.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli is actively monitoring the efforts to provide petroleum products and ensuring coordination among relevant bodies to meet the energy sector’s demands. He stressed the importance of optimizing Egypt’s natural resources by enhancing research, exploration, and production activities in collaboration with international companies.
Cabinet spokesman Mohamed el Homsani explained the steps being implemented with various authorities to prepare for the summer season, ensuring energy availability through both conventional and renewable sources. The Prime Minister also highlighted the state’s initiatives to bolster the new energy sector, aiming to attract more investments into this burgeoning field.
The meeting further focused on efforts to enhance the efficiency of power generation plants and improve control centers and distribution networks by collaborating with major international companies in these areas.
