Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted the government is paying great attention to Chinese investments in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
Several Chinese companies seek to invest in the Egyptian market, he said, adding that Chinese companies want to benefit from investment incentives that are offered by Egypt.
Madbouli’s remarks came at a meeting on Monday to follow up the new projects in the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Co-operation Zone (SETC-Zone).
Chairman of the General Authority of SCZone Walid Gamaleldin talked about the various spheres, which concern the Chinese companies in SETC-Zone.
Home to more than 130 companies, the TEDA zone has attracted investments of more than $1.6 billion, according to Gamaleldin.
