Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has directed action to make rice available for citizens at all supply associations and outlets across Egypt.

Madbouli was speaking during a meeting earlier Sunday with Supply Minister Ali Moselhi to follow up the strategic reserves of basic commodities on the market and make sure they are available for citizens.

Moselhi assured Madbouli that “we have safe strategic reserves of the different basic commodities”.

The government is acting to secure the different commodities on the local market, he stressed.

Moselhi told Madbouli that wheat reserves are enough for five months and sugar reserves are sufficient for four months and two weeks.

Rice is available on the local market, the supply minister said, adding that plentiful quantities of that strategic commodity are being distributed to outlets allover Egypt every day.
