Cairo: Egypt’s Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouli, met with the heads of 10 fast-growing entrepreneurial companies to discuss ways to support the sector’s growth. The meeting, held at the government’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, focused on the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, particularly among Egypt’s youth.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Madbouly emphasized the importance of the sector for Egypt’s economic development and highlighted the government’s plans to increase investments in entrepreneurship from $500 million to $5 billion. He assured the leaders of full government support, noting that a special ministerial group for entrepreneurship, headed by the Minister of Planning, had been established to address challenges in the sector.
The company representatives, who operate across 14 countries and have attracted $1.4 billion in investments, outlined their sectors of focus, including fintech, healthcare, and real estate. They also discussed t
he opportunities and challenges they face. In response, Dr. Madbouli requested an action plan from the companies to help achieve the target growth in the sector.
