Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli has chaired the meeting of the Higher Committee for Economic Performance.
The meeting, held Sunday evening, was attended by a host of ministers and high-level officials.
The premier said that the meeting aims to follow up on the implementation of directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi concerning several economic files during the Egyptian Family Iftar banquet.
The meeting also tackled the implementation of the measures which were announced during the international press conference held on May 15 to present the government’s plan to mitigate the impact of the global economic crisis.
Madbouli also said that a new high-level committee to shore up competition policy has been established under his chairmanship to review decisions, legislation and policies issued by the state’s administrative bodies.
The meeting, meanwhile, reviewed the most important tasks assigned to the various ministries within the upcoming period.
At the end of the meeting, Mabdouli affirmed that he will personally follows up on the implementation of the assigned tasks.
He also voiced readiness to act as a mediator to coordinate between the various ministries to overcome any obstacles.
