A cooperation protocol has been signed between the Planning and Economic Development Ministry and the Housing Ministry’s New Urban Communities Authority to outline a mechanism for managing and following up the automation and development of governmental services being provided at technology centers.
The protocol is also aimed at achieving integration in spatial databases of the new cities.
The signing ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli along with Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Saeed and Housing Minister Assem el Gazzar.
The planning minister said this protocol comes in light of efforts to automate and develop services being provided to citizens, adding that 21 new city halls and municipalities are included under the protocol.
As per the protocol, the planning ministry and the New Urban Communities Authority will be assigned to continue supporting and upgrading the comprehensive program of developing services offered for citizens, investors and businessmen via engaging information technology and establishing a spatial information infrastructure unit at the urban communities authority, she added.
Meanwhile, the housing ministry said the protocol comes within the framework of the increasing importance being attached to improving services provided to the public at new cities.
