Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Public Prosecution to protect the rights of priority care groups, including children, people with disabilities, and the elderly.
According to State Information Service Egypt, a memo of understanding was signed by Maya Morsi, the Minister of Social Solidarity, and Prosecutor General Mohamed Shawki, during a ceremony that coincided with the launch of the Public Prosecution’s training strategy at the top prosecutor’s office.
Cabinet spokesman Mohamed Al-Homsani stated that the protocol underscores the Egyptian state’s commitment to the rights of priority care groups, as enshrined in the constitution, national laws, and international agreements. It emphasizes the need for collaboration among relevant authorities to ensure these groups receive the protection and care they are entitled to.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity is tasked with overseeing the wellbeing of these groups and monitoring the social care institutions they inhabit, ensuring compliance with legal protections.
The protocol aims to establish a framework for cooperation between the ministry and the Public Prosecution, ultimately serving the best interests of these groups and enhancing their rights through the combined expertise of both entities.
