Cairo: Presidential directives have been issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to secure the requirements for new land reclamation projects in the New Delta and central and North Sinai. These efforts aim to expedite the implementation of key development projects and enhance their impact on food security.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouli made these remarks during a meeting focused on the progress of securing essential requirements for agricultural development in the mentioned regions. The meeting was attended by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Sewillam, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Essmat, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif Sherbiny, along with officials from relevant ministries.
The discussions highlighted the rate of implementation concerning the extension of water sources for new agricultural projects, which depend on the reuse of agricultural drainage water. This initiative aligns with the state’s strategy to minimi
ze water wastage across various activities, as noted by Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed Elhomosany.
Further, the meeting addressed the progress of providing power to the infrastructure supporting agricultural reclamation in the New Delta and North and Central Sinai. Additionally, it covered the advancements in establishing necessary transformer stations for all agricultural reclamation areas, the spokesman further added.
