A delegation from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has conducted an inspection tour of completed and ongoing projects at Fares village in the Upper Egyptian governorate of Aswan.
The delegation members were accompanied by representatives of “ECOnsult” Design, an engineering and environmental consultancy.
The tour comes in preparation for presenting Fares as a model for green villages during the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27), to be held in the Red Sea resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh in November.
Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el Saeed said intensified efforts are underway for maintaining coordination with development partners with a view to meeting criteria for green villages at Fares, as a pioneering model under the Decent Life Initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside.
Fares will become a “success icon” for other villages of the Decent Life Presidential Initiative and a pioneering experience at the regional and international levels, Saeed added.
