Planning minister stresses importance of coordination among all ministries to prepare for COP27

Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el Said stressed the importance of promoting coordination and cooperation among all ministries concerned to arrange for the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC).

Said underscored the necessity of making use of the event to highlight achievements made by the Egyptian state over the past years.

She added during a meeting with Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad on Monday that the ministry carried out green projects in the investment plan with nearly 40 percent of total ventures included in the plan.

The percentage is expected to increase in the coming Fiscal Year, according to her.

The meeting was allocated to discuss all arrangements for COP27, which will be hosted by Egypt in November in Sharm El Sheikh.

For her part, Fouad commended constructive cooperation with the planning ministry in several files, including ways to merge environmental sustainability and climate change issues with local and national planning and different economic policies along with stimulating the private sector toward green transition.
