Planning minister says EGP 22.9bn allocated for sustainable development in 2021-2022

The Ministry of Planning has outlined a plan of goals for fiscal year 2021-2022.

 

A “citizen guide” has been issued with the aim to encourage societal participation and boost efforts to locally settle sustainable development, said Planning Minister Hala el Saeid in statements.

 

She put the total value of the overall investments meant to achieve sustainable development in the country at about 22.9 billion pounds.

 

A report by the Ministry of Planning made it clear that Cairo got the lion’s share of investments with 27 percent.

 

The Canal region and Sinai Peninsula came second with 16 percent and was followed by the Delta region and Alexandria with 15 percent and 14 percent, respectively, according to the report.

 

Upper Egypt got 12 percent of the overall investments, while southern and central Upper Egypt got 9 percent and 7 percent, respectively, the report added.
