Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Said has stressed the importance of applying financial inclusion in all villages covered by “Decent Life” presidential initiative to develop the Egyptian countryside.
The minister’s statements coincided with a report issued by her ministry about efforts exerted to put into force the strategy of financial inclusion in the villages as part of the state efforts to improve the life of citizens, promote digital transformation, integrate the informal economy into the formal economy and support the Egyptian micro, small and medium enterprises.
Said hailed continued cooperation and coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt and all Egyptian banks to provide financial services for the villagers.
Dr. Gamil Helmy, the assistant minister of planning and economic development for the affairs of sustainable development follow-up plan said financial inclusion services have been applied in 258 villages in 11 governorates so far.
